Eiji, we are not excluding you - or anyone else for that matter.
We (the developers of BlueOnyx) do NOT have a single person on the team that
speaks Japanese. So we cannot translate anything into Japanese.
We even cannot read or understand the Japanese that is currently in the GUI,
so we do not know if there are problems with the already existing texts.
And I wouldn't call our Japanese users a minority group. In fact our YUM
update statistics show that there are as many BlueOnyx servers in Japan as
there are in the US. And yes: This surprised me as well.
However, the sad part is this: There is very little feedback from our Japanese
users. In the time that this mailing list has existed, probably less than 10
different Japanese users have posted to it. So far only a single gentleman
from Japan has ever sent me code for inclusion into BlueOnyx, which I gladly
accepted. We are always thankful for suggestions and for help, or for code or
translation files that others supply us with. Because there are simply things
that we cannot do. Not for lack of want, but for lack of ability. Take the
Danish translation for example. Nobody on our team speaks Danish. One
gentleman from Denmark (thanks again, Jes!) did it all by himself (which was a
lot of work!) and sent us the translation files for inclusion into BlueOnyx.

Eiji, you could save yourself a lot of work if you would consider sending us
your translated base-email.mo. Because then we would include your Japanese
translation into BlueOnyx.
Likewise: If you (or someone else who speaks Japanese) would translate other
parts of the GUI as well and would send us these files, we would gladly
include them, too. Please look at my previous message again: I even offered
SVN access to make submitting them easier.
The same is true for any other language that we not yet have covered. There is
no Spanish, no Chinese or French translation of BlueOnyx either. Simply for
the same reasons: We speak neither of those languages and nobody of our users
who's capable of doing it stepped up and did those parts of the work that we
cannot do.
Please ask your friends in the Japanese users group if anyone there is willing
to help us to improve the Japanese translation of BlueOnyx. If there are any
volunteers, we will gladly accept their submissions and would welcome them to
our team of contributors.
BlueOnyx is an open source project and lives from the time, the code and the
work that people provide free of charge. If you want BlueOnyx to improve, then
you are welcome to lend us a hand doing it.
