Which is, in case anybody is interested in some history, the exact
reason that VIRTBIZ owns & operates a 10,000 square-foot datacenter.
We've been a family-owned and -operated business since 1978 and have
always used technology as a centerpiece of our operations. In 1996 we
began to offer web-hosting services. We began by reselling space on
another provider. Since then we have grown and taken everything
in-house, including the professional services, management, equipment and
facility. That's not because that was our goal to begin with. It's
because we kept encountering disappointment with the way the services we
purchased were provided to us. Even when we were located in some of
the largest datacenters in our area, we were never treated any better
than just another number.
We have now grown very comfortable serving our niche. We have customers
ranging in size anywhere from $6/month to over $25,000/month. Our
"bread and butter" are small businesses.
We will never promise to be "the cheapest". But I'm confident that we
will always provide a great value, and proud to know that there are many
folks from the BlueOnyx community that call VIRTBIZ home. If ever you
have the desire to see what we can do for you, let me know. If you tell
us what you have in mind, we can often come up with something custom for
you at really attractive pricing. And if you don't go with us, check
out some of the other members of the list who also offer dedicated
servers, VPS or colocation. I'd much rather see users support the
providers who have shown themselves to have a good understanding not
only of what it takes to run the business, but to serve the customer.
By and large, that describes everyone on this list that I have been
fortunate enough to get to know.
