That's the problem. The initial network configuration has to be set by
the script that is automatically started when you first log in into a
freshly installed server. Or by running the script
/root/network_settings.sh, which can be used to change the network
settings from the shell.

If you use "ifconfig" or "ip" or edit the network config files directly,
then CCEd (the GUI backend) doesn't learn the network settings and will
throw errors. This can be circumvented by running
"/usr/sausalito/sbin/cced.init restart" or "systemctl restart
cced.init", which then runs the CCEd constructors that inform the system
of its current configuration.

However: You are right. I have seen that the setup script sometimes does
not save the network settings. I'll look into this problem and will
publish a new CD with a fix setup script.

Additionally I'll update base-network so that it no longer complains
about the variable "IPType" being unset if the network settings are
unknown to CCEd.

Many thanks for reporting this.

A fault in the setup script really doesn't leave the best initial
impression. I fully agree. However: Once past that obstacle 5209R has a
lot to offer and the code is pretty mature and has many improvements and
features that 5208R lacks.

I should have a fixed CD available within a day or two.
