This is the same solution I came up with as well, and I'm already using postfix...it appears to be working.

I'm sure this has been answered, but I can't find it. Since I normally don't use blueonyx for email, this hasn't been an issue. But I have a user with Win10 and Outlook 2016, and it seems to require the IMAP login to be the full email address, but authentication only works with just the username on 5211R . Is there a server side setting I can change to allow IMAP logins using fully qualified email addresses?
Thanks,
Jeff

We talked about it on the list a few days ago. See "[BlueOnyx:27155]
IMAP with Outllok" in the archive:
http://mail.blueonyx.it/pipermail/blueonyx/2024-August/thread.html
Larry Smith posted the approach that he is using:
http://mail.blueonyx.it/pipermail/blueonyx/2024-August/027164.html
And I looked at it further to see what (if anything) has to be done to
allow SMTP-Auth with email-addresses:
http://mail.blueonyx.it/pipermail/blueonyx/2024-August/027167.html
It turns out that if you use Postfix as the MTA, then SMTP-Auth already
works as is with either username/password or email-address/password.
In the next few days I'll be looking into an update to BlueOnyx
5210R/5211R that will allow you to enable/disable usage of email-address
for Dovecot logins.
